A Valley native has been named the new executive director of the region’s paramedic service.
Robert A. Pettinella’s appointment was announced Thursday during a meeting of Valley Emergency Medical Services (VEMS).
Pettinella, who lives in Oxford, replaces Jason Perillo.

OXFORD — After years of farming out its paramedic service, Valley Emergency Medical Services has taken direct control of providing emergency care to five Valley communities. The first VEMS-controlled paramedics reported for work at midnight Tuesday, according to VEMS Executive Director Jason Perillo. Many of those paramedics are familiar faces, he said. As word spread that VEMS would once again provide paramedic service, many who began their careers with the agency jumped at the chance to return, Perillo said. Read More . . .
