Executive Committee of the Board of Directors The Executive Committee functions as the leadership of the Board of Directors. It is comprised of the corporate officers of VEMS and is chaired by the President. It remains in frequent contact with the Executive Director to ensure that operational and administrative goals are met. The Executive Committee is frequently consulted on hiring matters and provides evaluation and feedback to the Executive Director between monthly meetings of the Board of Directors.
Board of Directors The VEMS Board of Directors meets monthly to approve strategic direction, make hiring and compensation decisions, approve budgets, provide financial and administrative governance, and provide for executive succession planning. The Board is comprised of one representative from each of the region’s five volunteer ambulance services, one appointed by each of the five municipal Chief Elected Officials, two from Griffin Hospital, one recommended by the Valley Chamber of Commerce, the Sponsor Hospital EMS Coordinator and the Executive Director.
