A Message from the Executive Director

Welcome to the Valley Emergency Medical Service website.  VEMS strives to be a leader in the communities it serves and we’re happy you’ve come to learn more about us and that effort.  Our field paramedics are some of the finest and most experienced clinicians in the State of Connecticut.  They work side-by-side with the region’s truly talented volunteer EMT’s to ensure that all of our patients are well-cared for.
VEMS paramedics work closely with Griffin Hospital to develop cutting-edge clinical protocols and they are progressive leaders in implementing clinical technology and field interventions.  They put their skills to work for the residents they serve.
In addition to our clinical initiatives throughout the community, we work closely with the Mayors and First Selectmen of our communities to ensure that their residents get the highest level of care available.  We work as partners with local leaders to provide high-level pre-hospital care.

Valley paramedics moving forward, looking back

Valley EMS hires its original paramedics to enhance its staffing

ANSONIA, CT – Although the midnight shift can be full of surprises for a paramedic, there are few emergencies that Valley Emergency Medical Service (VEMS) paramedic David Kingsbury hasn’t seen.  Kingsbury staffed the midnight shift at VEMS last night – the first shift for new staff – and his presence is very significant.
